Wendy ascends the Forth Bridge for Macmillan

Office Supervisor at ACV UK, Wendy McCullough ascends the iconic Forth Bridge raising over £700 in aid of Macmillan Cancer support.

ACV staff are always finding new (and sometimes scary) ways of raising money for charity. Our Office Supervisor, Wendy McCullough, decided to take fundraising to extreme heights, 361ft high to be exact!

Wendy, along with her sister Helen, were hoisted to the viewing platform of the Forth Bridge raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, in memory of their parents. Macmillan is one of the largest UK charities that offers support and information to those affected by cancer.

The Forth Bridge is one of Scotland’s most historic landmarks located only 4 miles away from ACV UK Office in Dalgety Bay. Since its opening in 1890, it has provided a key rail link between Edinburgh and Fife and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Wendy comments,

‘It was a little terrifying, not only was it blowing a gale but there were trains running throughout. Nonetheless it was such a great experience and we are delighted to have raised over £700 for Macmillan, a charity that means so much to us.’

Wendy’s fundraising also coincided with the annual Forth Bridge experience event run by Barnardo’s.

Well done Wendy and Helen!

Groupe Atlantic UK, ROI and North America is a finalist for the Community Spirit HVR Award 2019 for the group’s continued commitment to fundraising for Macmillan, raising over £40,000 and counting.
